after 8 day stay (april 2013), all we can say is Taxim home is a perfectm place to stay in Istanbul!
Aptmnt is exactly as shown in the pics, very clean, well located, in a very quiet and silent street considering it's only 5 minutes away from Taxim square! Cenk, the landlonrd is very nice, provided us with public transport pass (very convenient) and wi-fi access. We look forward rent again the appartment when coming back to Istambul! I would only mention a way to improve staying there, improving a little appartment basic equipment with a toaster and a copule of washing tablet soap to use washing machine...DO NOT HESITATE RENTING TAXIM HOME FOR YOUR STAY IN THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF ISTAMBUL! I will not in my next stay! |

Our stay at Cenk's place was perfect! The apartment is beautiful, very clean and well-equipped: brand-new dishwasher, laundry machine, hair-dryer, towels, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, big fridge and so on. The house is in a nice and pretty quiet neighbourhood, even though it is only a 3-minute-walk to Taksim Square and Istiklal Caddesi as well as to lots of restaurants, bars, and clubs. Cenk is a very uncomplicated and welcoming host. Along with the key for the apartment he gave us an 'Akbil' (a chip that works as a token for Istanbul's public transport), which was a great thing to have in busy Istanbul! I can highly recommend Cenk's apartment(s) and am sure you will enjoy your stay at his place in that great, vibrant city. |

Great apartment, great host, great holiday! Cenk's apartment is located right in the heart of the 'happening' part of Istanbul and is an easy walk (downhill) to the tram for all the sights in the Old City. Cenk even made sure we had a key fob for the Metro system. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It's spacious and surprisingly quiet, given its location. The kitchen facilities were great, especially the use of the washing machine. You also have the use of a combination microwave/oven/grill and dishwasher. There are at least 3 local shops within 30 seconds walk, for essential supplies and language barriers were not a problem in any of them. Taxsim Square is on the road above, accessed via a steep hill, but the climb is worth it for all that goes on there, including the modern shopping area of Istiklal Cd. and, of course, more restaurants, tea shops, bars and sweet shops than one visit can cover. Cenk is ever helpful and responds to emails quickly (usually within half an hour) - He's also never far away if you need help in the apartment. |
